About two years ago, a friend brought me to this barbershop-turned-restaurant. You don’t hear about one of those every day. It was opened in the 1800’s and operated by three barbers. The current building has been their location since 1925, after a demolition of their first building and a fire in their second.
La Peluquería Francesa is located on the corner of Compañía de Jesús and Libertad in Barrio Yungay, just a few blocks from Metro Cumming on line 5. Maybe I wouldn’t venture out there past dark (times have changed and so has this neighborhood), but during the day is a perfectly lovely place to get a café con leche or a pisco sour. Their happy hour is from 10am to 9pm…drink up.
Even if you don’t have an appetite, the interior is beautiful enough to warrant a visit.
